Earlier this month, Deborah, a Christian student in Nigeria, was killed by her Muslim classmates for ‘blasphemy’, following a message in a WhatsApp group.
A local source told Open Doors that she commented, “Jesus Christ is the greatest. He helped me pass my exams.” For this message, she was killed.
A group of peers attacked her, stoning her to death before burning her body.
A police spokesperson has revealed that two people have since been arrested for the killing and the college has shut down temporarily.
