PODCAST: WHAT 2021 TAUGHT US FT MARK SAYERS, TAYA GAUKRODGER, DARLENE ZSCHECH AND JOEL CAVE.

Open Doors LIVE is a monthly podcast unpacking stories from the persecuted church that will challenge everything you know about faith, Jesus and the Church.

Open Doors Live Podcast – Episode 68: What 2021 Taught Us Ft. Mark Sayers, Taya Gaukrodger, Darlene Zschech and Joel Cave

In the year that has been, as we’ve wrestled through the continuing pandemic, lockdown, vaccines, issues in government, the return of the Taliban, the changes within our churches, what does it look like to be real in our faith, to trust God, and to share the gospel with those around us?

In this episode, Mike shares some of the best conversations he had this year. From Taya Gaukrodger from Hillsong United, Darling Zschech from Hope UC, Mark Sayers from Red Church and Joel Cave from Glow Church- we chat through some of the biggest challenges of 2021.

In this episode:

  • Taya discusses what childlike faith looks like in a sea of doubt
  • Darlene unpacks how to deconstruct and reconstruct our faith
  • Mark Sayers dives into what it means to be a culturally relevant church
  • Joel Caves talks about whether it’s possible to have a churchless faith

Bethany Westwood has been the producer of the Open Doors Live Podcast since 2017, and has travelled to the field to meet with persecuted believers in places like Iraq and Central Asia, to bring back stories that encouraged and challenge our faith.

Open Doors began in 1955 when Brother Andrew smuggled Bibles to persecuted Christians. We now work in over 70 countries supporting Christians who are persecuted for their faith in Jesus.
