“My brother called me. He said, ‘I heard you became a Christian and left your religion. If you’re under pressure, I can come and save you. But if you really betrayed your religion I’ll come and kill you. I don’t care if I spend my life in prison.’”
Ariana* grew up as a Muslim in Afghanistan where women are bound by strict rules. Forced into marriage, she later found her in-laws were secret believers and saw the injustice against Afghan women.
“I realised that women were sexually assaulted, beaten, and even publicly shamed for leaving their religion,” Ariana says sadly.
Today, she lives as a refugee in Central Asia and comforts many Afghan families through God’s Word.
“I have tasted from God, knowing the way, the truth, and the life,” she says. “I want [other Afghans] to also taste this salt of life and to drink this living water.”
