The brutal war in Myanmar has destroyed countless Christian communities, killing thousands and forcing tens of thousands to flee for their lives. Several families have taken up refuge in forests or border countries but lack necessities. Pastor Yang* has uprooted his family many times to escape the destruction.
“Since the coup, our lives have been incredibly tough,” Pastor Yang shares. “As a husband and a father, sometimes I feel helpless that I cannot make my own family feel safe.”
He is deeply exhausted yet still wants to serve God and his fragile community.
“Despite feeling desperate and hopeless at times, we know God is with us,” he says. “He has kept us safe until now, and we are still able to serve Him.”
Though Pastor Yang and other Christians like him are displaced, we can remind them they’re not alone.
