Amidst the events unfolding in Sri Lanka following the economic and political crises, our local partners are serving persecuted Christians who now face added burdens. Please pray for them, and for the nation of Sri Lanka.
It has been a challenging time for the church and the local partners. Many believers and pastors in rural areas are struggling to make ends meet for their families with the high cost of living. It is evident that the Sri Lankan church is experiencing the effects of the economic crisis. Many families in Sri Lanka have had to cut down to one meal per day. For some, they simply have a cup of tea for dinner.
Many have reached out to Open Doors’ local partners for help. Local partners have been able to provide relief support for many low-income households and widows across Sri Lanka that have been critically affected by this crisis.
Amid this crisis, churches and the local field partners have been able to bring hope to people during these trying times. Churches in Colombo and its suburbs have been doing prayer walks and small-scale community services to ease the tensions and frustration the whole nation is feeling. Will you join them in praying over the nation of Sri Lanka?
Pray For Sri Lanka:
- Pray that God will provide for for persecuted Christians who now face the added burden of the economic crisis.
- Pray that God will strengthen local partners, pastors, and churches to serve the body of Christ.
- Pray for stability and peace in the nation.
